2. Prepare the bonding surface by grinding the paint from an area of at least 25 mm
( 63/64") diameter at the mounting location. If necessary, mill the area to ensure a
flat mounting surface.
Roughen the surface with a file; bonding rigidity can further be increased by
filing grooves into the surface in a crosshatch pattern.
3. Optionally, and only if light drilling is permitted, the centering pin option may be
used to hold the mounting adapter in place, in any position, while the adhesive
cures.
Drill a hole for the centering pin (3.5 mm / 1/8" in diameter, approx. 5 mm / 1/4"
deep). The pin is self-threading and can be removed from the base of the
mounting adapter if necessary.
Clean the roughened mounting surface and the base of the mounting adapter
with a clean cloth. Use degreasing solvent and clean the bare metal mounting
surfaces of the machine and the mounting adapter. Allow both metal surfaces to
dry.
