DEF FLUID INJECTION SYSTEM - MAIN COMPONENTS
- Dosing Control Unit (DCU box): this device
supplies DEF fluid to the injector. The amount

supplied is regulated by the electronic engine
management system. The unit consists of:
- Pump (A)
- Filter (B)
- DEF tank: contains the DEF fluid. It consists
of:
- Filling plug (usually blue)
- Internal filter
- DEF fluid level sensor
- DEF fluid temperature sensor
- DEF fluid quality sensor
- DEF fluid supply lines:
The supply lines are normally supplied by
the manufacturer of the vehicle in which
the engine is installed and approved by VM

- DEF injector:
it injects the DEF fluid towards the SCR
catalyst using a mixer that
fluid distribution.
