4 Installation location and installation

Notes on transport

Damage due to improper transportation
When slewing and depositing the load, electronic equipment can be
damaged by the force of impact. During transportation, electronic
equipment can be damaged by temperature fluctuations and air humidity.
As no cables are led through the screw connections, the unit does not
comply with the criteria of protection type IP55 during transportation.
The device must be protected against impact during transportation.

When transporting, do not subject the equipment to high temperature
|
fluctuations or air humidity.
Transport and store the device in dry conditions.
|
Material damage caused by condensation
If the device is brought to the installation location from cold surroundings,
condensation may form, which can lead to damage to the electronic
equipment. Before commissioning, the device must be dry.
Allow 2 hours after transportation before commissioning.

Installation

Materials required
Appropriate to the selected installation surface. Note the following
|
when selecting screws:
  10 mm.

Prerequisite
Observe the requirements for the installation location (see Chapter 4.1,
|
page 23)
Risk of injury due to short circuits
Humidity in the housing of the SmartConnect may cause a short circuit
and lead to arcing. It may cause fire and serious injury.
Keep the interior of the housing dry and clean.

Installing the SmartConnect
1. Drill the holes. Refer to the dimension drawing.
