3. Inflation Instructions
Roll out the kayak. Slip the tracking fin into the bottom anchor
point (14) Inflate seats and footrests before assembling. Fig. 3
shows the valve (3) handling. Assemble seats and footrests on
the deflated kayak.
Thanks to its design, the SEASHINE kayak may be used in one-,
two-, or three-seat versions - Refer to Fig. 1.
Installation of metal reinforcements:
Insert the metal reinforcements type "C" (4) into the reinforce-
ment brackets (18) - see Fig. 2.
One-seat version assembly:
Fix the seat (7) in the middle position on the bottom anchor
point (15). Thread the ends of the straps (20) on the seat back-
rest through the plastic clips on the seat and footrest attachment
brackets (17) on the side rollers - see detail A. Thread the ends of
the (19×45) cm footrest straps (9) through the footrest strap lugs
(19) and through the plastic clips on the seat and footrest attach-
ment brackets (17). Tighten the straps. Correct pulling of the strap
through the buckle and the clasp is shown in Detail B.
Two-seat version assembly:
Fix the seats on the bottom in the brackets (15) in the front and rear
positions. Thread the ends of the straps (20) on the backrest of the
front seat through the plastic clips on the seat and footrest attach-
ment brackets on the rollers (16). Thread the ends of the straps (20)
on the backrest of the rear seat through the plastic clips on the
seat and footrest attachment brackets (17) - see detail A.
Thread the ends of the (19×45) cm footrest straps (9) through the
footrest strap handles (19) and the plastic clips on the seat and
footrest attachment handles (17). Thread the ends of the (18×34)
cm footrest straps (8) through the footrest strap handles (19) and
the plastic clips on the seat and footrest attachment handles (16).
Tighten the straps. Correct pulling of the strap through the buckle
and clasp is shown in Detail B.
Three-seat version assembly:
Fix the seats (7) on the bottom in the brackets (15). Thread the
ends of the straps (20) on the backrest of the front seat through
the plastic clips on the seat and footrest attachment brackets on
the rollers (16). Thread the ends of the straps (20) on the backrest
of the centre seat and of the rear seat through the plastic clips
on the seat and footrest attachment brackets on the rollers (17)
- see detail A.
Thread the ends of the (18×34) cm footrest straps (8) through the
footrest strap handles (19) and the plastic clips on the seat and
footrest attachment handles (16). Thread the ends of the centre
(19×45) cm footrest straps (9) through the footrest strap handles
(19) and the plastic clips on the seat and footrest attachment
handles (17). Thread the ends of the rear (19×45) cm footrest
straps (9) through the plastic clips on the seat and footrest at-
tachment handles (17).
Tighten the straps. Correct pulling of the strap through the buckle
and clasp is shown in Detail B.
Inflate the air chambers in sequence: Side chambers (1), the bot-
tom (2). Use a foot-pump or piston pump with valve adaptor for
inflating - Refer to Fig. 3b (the adaptor is included in the kayak
bonding set). Check the condition of the valves before inflating.
Tighten the valves with the assembly key - see Fig. 3c. Set the
valves to the OFF position. Valve handling - Refer to Fig. 3. Inflate
the air chambers until they are firm but not completely stiff. The
air chambers should provide a feeling comparable to squeezing
a ripe orange (side cylinders) or lime (bottom). You can check
the exact operating pressure by using a suitable pressure gauge
(optional accessory) – see Fig. 3a.
For transferring the kayak, use the handle (11) on the front and
rear board.
ATTENTION
The maximum operating pressure in the air chambers of
the side rollers is 0.025 MPa (0.25 Bar/3.75 PSI), the bottom
0.05 MPa (0.5 Bar/7.2 PSI), the seats and footrests 0.02 MPa
(0.2 Bar/3 PSI). If the ambient temperature increases (e.g.
owing to sunlight), the pressure in the air chambers of the
boat can rise rapidly. We recommend releasing some air
from all air chambers of the kayak after pulling it out of
the water. This will prevent possible destruction of the air
chambers. However, do not forget to continuously check air
pressure in the chambers afterwards, too. A corresponding
reduction in operating pressure is up to 20 % within 24 hours.
ATTENTION
When using the boat, always seal the valves with their
valve caps. This will keep dirt out of the valves. Dirt can
cause leaky valve seals.
4. Using the Boat
The SEASHINE kayak is designed for recreational use and
water tourism.
Whenever the kayak is used on waterways, Waterway Traffic
Rules should be observed. Operation of the SEASHINE a in-
flatable kayak does not require any licence provided the
people who operate the kayak know the techniques of small
boat operation within the scope necessary for its operation,
as well as the valid navigation rules of the particular country.
The SEASHINE kayak can be used on still or gently flowing
waters up to Difficulty Grade WW 2. This is only a recom-
mended use, it always depends on the specific abilities of
the user! Use double-bladed kayak paddles with a length
of (220-240) cm / (87-95) in. People travelling in the kayak
should sit in their seats and wear flotation life-jackets.
The manufacturer recommends using the boat in sufficient
water condition (see Control table - draught).
ATTENTION
Prior to every use of the boat, check whether it is neces-
sary to observe any special regulations, restrictions or
rules connected with the river, surface of water or area in
which you aim to operate.
The boat is not intended for towing a motor boat, it must
not be slipped or otherwise excessively stressed. In case
of emergency, use the handle at bow of the boat to tow.
Sharp edged and pointed items carried in the boat must
be safely wrapped.
Place all valuables into a waterproof container and fas-
ten it to the boat.
Over time, sunlight adversely affects the rubber coating
of the boat; therefore, it is advisable to store the boat in
shade each time after use.
CAUTION:
• On large surfaces of water (seas, lakes) pay attention
to water currents and off-shore breezes. Currents and
breezes may make it impossible to return to shore.
• The SEASHINE kayak should not be used in poor con-
ditions, such as In reduced visibility (night, fog, rain).
Specifications of the WW 2 difficulty grade - moderately
difficult:
• irregular waves and currents, rapids of moderate difficul-
ty, weak eddies and whirls, low gradients, small rapids in
heavily meandering or badly transparent watercourse
• regular current and low regular waves, small rapids, simple
obstacles, frequent meanders with rapidly flowing water.
