needle to its highest position by turning the handwheel coun-
terclockwise° Remove the foot holder. Pull bobbin thread
about 3"(7,0 cm) straight back toward the rear of the ma-
chine. Insert the hook of the base plate 0 into the rectangu-
lar hole on the needle plate 6)° Pull lever ® back to align the
hook with the rectangular hole. Snap base plate ® down to
fit the two pins ® at the back of base plate into the two round
holes on needle plate (_ Release the lever°
