As another example, let's consider connecting the universal cable to the Toyota 2706020230
alternator (Fig. 20).

Based on the socket terminals in Fig. 20, we determine the alternator type. In this case, terminal
L defines the alternator type as Lamp. Next, using Appendix 1, we identify which diagnostic cable
wires need to be connected to the alternator socket. The connection scheme is provided in
Table 3.
