Fuel filter (for fuel tank)
Water or dirt in the fuel tank will cause
engine performance problems.
Check and clean the tank at specified
times or after the outboard motor has
been stored for a long period of time (over
three months).
1. Remove the fuel pickup elbow of the
fuel tank by turning it counterclockwise
2. Clean the fuel filter and check the O-
ring. Replace it if necessary.
3. Reassemble all parts.

Gear oil replacement

Be sure that outboard motor is secured
to transom or service stand, or acciden-
tal drop or fall of outboard motor could
lead to severe personal injury.

Do not go under outboard motor tilted
up and locked, or accidental fall of out-

1. Tilt down the outboard motor.
2. Remove the oil plugs (lower and
upper), and completely drain the gear
oil into a pan.
3. Insert the oil tube nozzle into the lower
oil plug hole, and fill with gear oil by
squeezing the oil tube until oil flows out
of the upper plug hole and bubbles is
disappeared to remove the air.

Use genuine gear oil or the recommended
one (API GL-5: SAE #80 to #90).
Required volume: approx. 320 mL (10.8
