"3-wire" measurement :
When the
key is pressed, the instrument :
TEST
-
measures and checks the voltage and the frequency,
-
measures the phase difference between the 3 phases and displays the direction of phase
rotation: "1.2.3." if the phase order is direct, "3.2.1." if the order of the phases is reversed
"2-wire" measurement :
This test uses input terminal L of the instrument as "hot side" and input terminal N as "cold side"
(reference potential).
When the
key is pressed, the instrument :
TEST
-
checks voltage V12 between conductors L1 and L2 (L2 represents the reference potential).
-
if it is correct in both value and frequency, stores the phase ("origin phase") and prompts the
user to shift the input terminal to conductor L3,
-
then checks voltage V32 between conductors L2 and L3 (value and frequency with respect to
voltage V12),
-
measures the phase difference of V32 with respect to the origin phase and displays the result
as in the case of a "3-wire" measurement.
4.3.2 Preparation of the measurement (connection)
=> Set the switch to the corresponding position :
=> Program the type of test to be performed ("3-wire" measurement or "2-wire" measurement) using
the
key.
=> For a "3-wire" measurement:
-
connect the tripod plug to the instrument and connect the 3 cables to the 3 phases.
=> For a "2-wire" measurement:
-
connect the tripod plug to the instrument using a cord with separate plugs,
-
connect the yellow plug to the phase assumed to be L2 of the network to be tested,
-
press the TEST key and wait for the "to L1" message,
-
connect the red plug to the phase assumed to be L1 of the network to be tested,
-
wait for the "open L1" message,
-
disconnect the red plug,
-
wait for the "to L3" message,
-
connect the red plug to the phase assumed to be L3 of the network to be tested,
4.3.3 Course of the measurement
The instrument first checks the voltage and frequency. If these values are correct, pressing the
key starts the measurement. As soon as the result is available, it is displayed.
TEST
4.3.4 Measurement results
At the end of the measurement, the measured values and complementary results can be looked up
using the
and
MORE
keys.
