11.6 WHEEL MOUNTING WITH UHP, RUN FLAT, LOW PROFILE TYRES
1- Carefully lubricate the entire inner surface of the rim and the tyre beads, both outside and inside to a depth of at least 30mm.
If the rim has been removed from the turntable, lock it again as described in Section 11.2 "WHEEL LOCKING".
2- Position the head (13, Fig. H) against the rim edge following the instructions described in paragraphs 1,2,3, "demounting"
phase.
WARNING: if you are working on the previously demounted wheel or otherwise on a rim of the same diameter, the head and the
operating arm will already be properly positioned and these operations will not need to be repeated.
N.B. It is always advisable to replace the valve, using the appropriate tool correctly.
3- Position the tyre on the rim so as to allow the positioning of the head on the rim edge.
4- Position the valve at about 10 o'clock compared to the vertical
column.
5- Tilt the tyre so that the bead is positioned under the head (see
Fig. Q/1).
6- turn the turntable and bring the tyre until the mounting of the
first bead is complete.
7- Position the valve at about 7 o'clock compared to the vertical
column.
8- Tilt the tyre so that the bead is positioned under the head.

9- Bring the BPR roller to the working position by turning the ring
(1, Fig. Q2) then by lowering the arm (2, Fig. Q2).
1
The BPR roller guides the bead of the tyre under the hook of the
2
head, then into the rim, during the insertion phase.
10- Position the edge guard at about 6 o'clock compared to the
vertical column or otherwise in correspondence with the tension
point (see Fig. Q2).
5. Lock the clamp at 5 o'clock compared to the vertical column or
otherwise of the side to the edge guard (see Fig. Q3).
N.B.: Facilitate the operation using the PT 40 bead depressor to
press the tyre at the point of application of the clamp (see Fig. Q3).
