WARNING
Using the bead depressor pad, never apply
excessive pressure or pressure that would
cause a deformation of the tread surface.
12. Raise the PT40 arm.
13. Start the turntable rotation.
CAUTION!
The rim and tyre must move in solidarity with each other, so as
to prevent the valve with the sensor (if present) from getting
damaged. The risk of damage is very high when the sensor passes
through the tension points.
14- When the clamp is approximately in the 9 o'clock position, insert the
roller bead breaker under the section between the clamp and the mounting
head (as shown in Fig. Q4).
N.B.: Should this be difficult, use the bead depressor of the PT 40 to apply
pressure on the tyre wall at approximately the 6 o'clock position and push
the bead into the wheel rim well.
15- Continue to turn until the mounting of the second bead is complete,
making sure that the edge guard remains positioned at the tension
point, then return the BPR roller to the rest position.
N.B.: During all other work phases, the BPR roller must be kept in a
rest position, so as not to interfere with the operations on the tyre.
16. Remove the roller bead breaker and the clamp.
17. If used, lift the arm of the PT40 and move it away from the work position.
18- Bring the tyre changer arm to a non-working position.
19- Press the pedal (5, Fig. H) and free the wheel from the turntable.
IMPORTANT: All the operations described in this section refer to machines equipped with an inflation gun.
DANGER!!
Tyre inflation is dangerous.
Follow carefully all the cautions and instructions given.
11.7 BEAD SEATING AND INFLATING
DANGER!!
Tyre or rim failure under pressure is hazardous and any resulting explosion can propel the
tyre upward and outward with sufficient energy to cause serious injury or death to operator
or bystander.
Though this tyre changer is equipped with a pressure limiter set at 3.5 bar (50 Psi), it is
not intended to be a safety device to contain exploding tyres, tubes, rims or bead sealing
equipment and, hence, does not eliminate the risk of and damage from any such explosion.
