1. Installing Wheels
Identify if your chair uses the quick release button on the axle (Fig. 52:B) and if your chair uses the
button, continue to next steps. If your chair uses a threaded axle, you will see a bolt head instead
of the quick release button. Threaded axle wheels are designed to not be removed so the
following steps don't apply.
a. Push the quick release button (Fig. 52:B) on the axle (Fig. 52:C) to allow the locking balls
(Fig. 52:D) to retract. Make note of the difference between the extended and depressed
position of the axle release button and its effect on the locking balls on the end of the axle.
b. Push on quick release button again and slide axle into axle sleeve (Fig. 52:A).
c. Release the button to lock axle in sleeve. If release button does not fully extend and the
locking balls do not move into the locked position after releasing the button, the axle length
needs to be adjusted.
