G. MAINTENANCE AND CARE

1. OUTER SHELL

You may use water and pH-adjusted soap suds to clean the outer shell of the
helmet.
Caution:
Never use automobile fuels, thinners or solvents for cleaning. These
substances may cause severe damage to the helmet without any visible
signs being evident. In such cases the full protective action of the
helmet can no longer be assured.

2. CHIN GUARD

Please check the proper functioning of the chin guard regularly.
Warning:
Do not modify the locking mechanisms of the chin guard in any way. In
particular, do not oil or grease the metal parts of the chain guard locking
mechanism. Any repairs may only be carried out by the SCHUBERTH
repairs service.
3. VISORS AND SUN VISOR
Use only a soft, lint-free cloth, slightly moistened if necessary, to clean the
sun visor (we recommend a microfiber cloth). Do not use detergents.
Caution:
Use only lukewarm water (< 20 °C) to clean the sun visor. Never use
petrol, solvents, glass cleaner or other alcohol-based cleaning agents.

Caution:
Even if it is badly soiled, do not soak the outer surface of the visor
in water, as this will severely reduce its surface hardening and the
resistance of the anti-scratch coating.
Caution:
When the helmet is not being used for an extended period (particularly
when in storage), do not close the visor completely, as this would
prevent the escape of any moisture inside; this moisture would then be
absorbed excessively by the anti-scratch coating. This could result in
a reduced service life of the coating. Ideally, set the visor to the third
position above the city position.
Caution:
Do not attach any labels, adhesive tape or stickers to the visor or sun
visor.
Tip:
Stubborn soiling on the outside of the visor (e.g. dried insect remains)
can be easily removed by leaving the visor in its closed position, covered
by a damp cloth for 1/2 to 1 hour and then wiping off.
Caution:
Avoid storing the visor where the temperature can exceed 40 °C or
humidity is high, as these conditions can result in damage to it.
