5.2 Hydraulic connections
The installation has to bear the pressure reached when the
pump runs at maximum frequency and zero flow rate.
Pump with oval flange pump casing : with threaded tubes to screw
directly on the oval tapped counter-flanges delivered with the pump.
Pump with round flange pump casing: with tube to weld or to screw
in the counter-flanges (counter-flanges, available as option). If counter
flange in steel, by counter flange in stainless steel to screw (as option).
Pump with rapid hose coupling : with bracket,to be installed with an end
to fix on the hose (bracket and threaded end available as accessories).
The diameter of the pipe must never be smaller than the one of the
counterflange.
The circulation sense of the fluid is indicated on the identification
label of the pump.
Limit the length of the suction pipe and avoid all features that cause
losses of head (bends, valves, tapers).
Connections has to correctly sealed:No air entrance is allowed on
the suction pipe which is showing a mounting declivity (2%).
(See fig. 1).
Use supports or collards (fig. 1 & 2 - item 7) so that the pump does not
bear the weight of the pipes.
When the pump is under pressure, it is recommen-

ded to connect the non-return valve to the pump
discharge to protect it against hammer blow effects.
Note : To pump water with a large content of air or hot water, we
recommend to install the by-pass kit (fig. 1 - item BP).
5.3 Electric connections
The electric connections and inspections have to be carried
out by a qualified electrician and have to comply with the
relevant local standards.
The control circuits in the converter are isolated from the
power circuits by single insulation (IEC 664-1).
The installer must ensure that the external control circuits (e.g.: pres-

Manual mode :
Mode with pressure regulation :
Mode with external control :
Remark : The standard configuration mode is
either the Mode1-3, or the Mode2 following the
driven mode choose at the order of the pump.
The change of the converter parameters from
Mode1-3 to Mode2 (or reverse) is carried out
by the programming key, the action of an
after-sales technician is required.
Risk of material damage.
CAUTION !
According to the operating configurations, a
wrong disconnected wire in the connection area
can damage the converter.
- Disconnect at both ends.
- Remove it.

sure sensor, external set value...) are isolated against any human
contact.
If the control circuits need to be connected to circuits conforming to
SELV safety requirements, additional insulation must be inserted to
maintain the SELV classification.
The electric characteristics (frequency, voltage, nominal current) of the
motor-converter are mentioned on the name plate. Check that the
motor-converter complies with the mains supply used.
The electric protection of the motors is integrated into the converter.
The parameters take into account the characteristics of the pump
and must ensure its protection and the one of the motor.
In case of impedance between earth and neutral point, install a
control/protection system before motor-converter.
Provide a fuse disconnecting switch (type GF) to protect the mains
installation (fig. 1 & 2 - item 11).
If you have to install a differential circuit-breaker for users pro-
tection, it must have a delay effect. Adjust it according to the
current mentioned on the converter label.
Use power cables conforming with standards.
The position of the motor-converter can be changed a quarter turn by
removing the motor attachment screws (if necessary, remove the cou-
pling guards) and turning the motor to the desired position.
Refit the attachment screws of the motor and the coupling
guards.
DO NOT FORGET TO CONNECT TO EARTH.
The electric connection of the converter has to comply with the
schemes of the following table :
A connection error
CAUTION !
would damage the converter.
The power cable must never touch the pipe or the pump ;
make sure that it is sheltered from any humidity.
