CLEAT CONTENTS AND MOUNTING
WARNING: these cleats are designed to reduce the risks of
5
slipping when walking short distances and are not intended for
1
long or extended walks.
3
VIEW: CLEAT – PEDAL INTERFACE :
1: Attachment window: the 3 attachment windows allow the
2
cleat to be fixed to the sole of the shoes. They are rectangular
4
in form allowing for amplitude of lateral (side-to-side) adjust-
ment of 4 mm and a longitudinal (vertical) adjustment range
of 9 mm. These 2 dimensions of cleat adjustment allow each
cyclist to precisely position the cleat on the sole of the shoe.
2: rectangular washers (6)
3: cleat fixing screws (6): the screws delivered with the
cleats are M5x11. They are designed to be tightened using
5
either a 3mm Allen key or a flathead screwdriver.
28
WARNING: to attach the cleat to a sole with inserts, you may need to use longer screws pro-
vided with the shoes or available as a kit from your retailer (LOOK 20mm screw kit reference:
DTPD/0151059).
4: PAD: Play adjusting pad between the cleat and pedal, essential for proper and efficient operation of
the pedal system.
WARNING: when using the cleat adjustment memory pad, once the cleat is positioned and
attached to the sole and adjustment memory pad the PAD should be re-inserted from the ex-
terior of the cleat into its original position. The shape and the material of the PAD make this
possible (see the following paragraph).
5: Anti-slip pads: these polyurethane pads limit the risks of slipping when
walking.
WARNING: It is hazardous to use the cleats once the pad wear in-
dicators become apparent (see diagram opposite).
