Step 5: once the cleat properly adjusted, confirm the tightening
torque on the cleat fixing screws (5.5 and 6 Nm (between 4 and
4.5 lbf-ft)).
WARNING: before riding on the road, be sure you know
how and are familiar with the use of automatic pedals.
Practice engaging and disengaging the pedals and cleats
several times while at a standstill. Prepare yourself men-
tally to disengage your feet from the automatic pedals
when stopping or during other situations that require put-
ting your foot on the ground.
Using the Adjustment Memory Positioner:
To use the adjustment memory positionner, your shoes should be
equipped with a central oblong bolt hole (see adjacent diagram).

Installing the Adjustment Memory pad:
If your shoe is equipped with a central oblong bolt
hole and bolt, remove the bolt. Position the cleats
on the sole of your shoes. Fasten the cleat and
install the Adjustment Memory Positonner without
tightening it all the way. Do not insert the exter-
nal pad until you have completed adjustment and
tightened each cleat fixing bolt as well as the Ad-
justment Memory Positionner bolt. Insert the PAD
from the exterior (see adjacent diagram).
Replacing worn cleats using the Adjustment Memory Positionner:
Unscrew the cleat fixing screws and remove the cleat without touching the Adjustment Memory Posi-
tionner screw. Position your new cleat and snap it into place on the Adjustment Memory Positionner,
your cleat will automatically be positioned in the same position as previously defined.
