Connection and adjustment
Limit the cable length and the cable resistance to the
downstream safety controller to the maximum cable
length L and maximum cable resistance R

determined using Tab. 5 so that a cross-circuit
between the outputs is safely detected.
4.3.3 Determination of the cable length – example
The downstream safety controller to which the IN4000
Direct is connected draws up to 75 mA on each of the
two safety inputs. All relevant values can be
determined using Tab. 5.
In the I column find a current greater/equal to
out
75 mA, here 90 mA.
The maximum cable length can be taken from the
L column, here 15 m.

taken from the R column, here 1.4 .
