INTRODUCTION

In this system we have reserved a particular care for the simplicity
of use. Thanks to the INTERACTIVE setting solution, is in fact pos-
sible to choose the setting of any kind of welding, regardless if the
settings are made by an inexpert users or by users that don't have
the necessary time to learn the complete system settings.
Working points, in Tig, Mig and Pulse Mig, are not only simple
welding parameters recalls but complete setting of the welding
machine, which in a friendly mode, the operator can store and
therefore recall complex work systems.
The generator QUAD AC/DC has been developed for the follow-
ing applications:
1. TIG Lift Arc
2. TIG HF
3. TIG Cold wire
4. MIG / MAG
5. Pulsed MIG or twin Pulsed MIG
6. Electrode
(*) In the modality TIG AC is possible select the function MIX ARC
from which is obtained a type of mixed welding that increases the
penetration, improves the looks of the weld, and reduces at mini-
mum the consumption of the tungsten.
The CLEAN TUNGSTEN function allows you to clean the tungsten
electrode when the latter is contaminated. See Page 44.
In all the welding modality over listed, is possible to select in addi-
tion the following function: AUTOMATIC (AUTO) or MANUAL
(MANUAL):
a) AUTO function allows the welder an optimal and
continued auto setting of all the parameters that usually
need to be set at every modification of the welding
current.

b) MANUAL function completes all the AUTO regulations
related to the set current and allows to a professional welder
an autonomy in the settings, from the minimum to the maxi-
mum, very useful for extreme welding solution experiments.
1) TIG Lift arc AC or DC
Through the appropriate switch located on the back panel of the
generator, is possible to exclude the HF function and work in Lift
arc mode, where for particular environment like: hospitals, electri-
cal and thermal central stations and data banks, the use of high fre-
quency is forbidden.
2) TIG HF AC or DC
The system of HIGH FREQUENCY (HF) allows the striking of the
arc without touching the base material.
When the arc is ignited, the high frequency is automatically switch
OFF, for both DC and AC applications, due to the fact that the spe-
cial shape of the QUAD AC wave, does not need high frequency to
maintain the arc ON during welding.
3) TIG COLD WIRE AC or DC
This application is operated by connecting to the generator the TIG
COLD WIRE options shown in table 1,1. (See Chap. 5 COMPOSI-
TION SYSTEM to Page 7).
When selecting TIG COLD WIRE mode, it allows to have a conti-
nuos synergycal regulation of the wire referred to the set current.
It's possible to choose the kind of wire feeding from the following
options: Continuous, Syncro On or Syncro Off.
