5. Operation
5.5- Tractor travel speed
The tractor's working speed is a factor that directly influences the production of
the machine and the quality of the cut. Choose the gear that provides adequate
speed considering the harvesting conditions, such as: type of crop, size of plants,
slope of terrain, power of the tractor used, etc.
In general, it is used:
• For bulky crops, taller and/or for fine chopping, lower speeds should be used.
• For not so bulky crops, shorter and/or thick chopping, higher speeds can
be used.
Make sure your tractor has a sticker containing a chart and/or graph scale that
reports the speed for several revolutions per gear. If it does not exist, look for
this information in your Tractor Manual.
IMPORTANT!
Avoid overloading the machine and
the tractor by reducing the mowing
speed (tractor travel) whenever you
feel the need, avoiding the use of the
tractor clutch as much as possible.
Turn PTO off when maneuvering.
5.6- Power take-off speed
It is important to maintain 540 rpm at the tractor power take-off constant
during operation.
In case of doubts to get 540 rpm in the PTO, consult your tractor's manual.
5.7- Shutting down the machine
Wait until the machine is completely empty before turning it off.
Lower the PTO speed to idle.
Turn off the power take off.
