Switching on the Aerator Roller
(only 32 EH)
Figure 3
GB
Only switch on the aerator roller
with the motor switched off.
Only switch the aerator roller on
within the cutting height range from
25 – 55 mm. The working height
of the aerator roller is set via the
cutting height adjustment (figure 2).
The care table (in item 8. Informa-
tion Concerning Correct Mowing)
contains the various lawn care
options. The aerator roller is
switched on with the motor station-
ary by turning the rotary switch
(figure 3) to position 1. Turn the
rotary switch to position 0 to turn
the aerator roller off. The aerator
roller must be switched off when
you have finished work or when
transporting the Hattrick!
Operating the Equipment
Attaching the Connection Cable
Figures 4 + 5
First of all insert the plug of the
connection cable into the socket of
the starter switch and then in the
cable strain-relief device so the
cable to the socket sags slightly
(figure 4). The cable strain-relief
prevents the electrical plug and
socket connection being discon-
nected accidentally. Always
unwind the spare cable completely
from the cable reel and lay it out
in large, loose coils. Insert the
plug in the socket provided for the
8. Information Concerning Correct Mowing
General Lawn Care Information
To achieve a manicured lawn,
we recommend mowing once a
week if possible. Frequent cut-
ting strengthens the short stalks of
grass and makes them resistant.
Short cuttings (up to about 1 cm in
length) can be left on the ground
after cutting. Longer cuttings must
be removed to stop the lawn turn-
24
purpose. The cable must be routed
in such a way that during mowing
it always lies on the side which has
already been mowed.
The cable must not be squeezed
through doors or windows. Only
ever pull the cable out of the socket
by the plug or coupling housing.
Starting
Figure 4
Place the lawnmower on a flat
area of the lawn. The lawn mower
may not be raised when switching
on the mower. If necessary – only
place at an angle in such a way
that the cutting mechanism points in
the direction away from the user.
When the motor is running, always
keep your hands and feet away
from the inner housing and grass
ejector. The mains connection
socket must be fused with a mini-
mum of 16 A.
To start the mower, press the start
button with one hand, pull the
safety handle towards the guide
bar with the other hand. Release
the start button after the motor
has started.
Note:
The mower will start easily if you
lift the guide bar slightly by press-
ing on it gently. If the cutting
mechanism or the aerator roller
(only 32 EH) is blocked by a
foreign body or the motor is over-
ing yellow and matting. When
mowing without the grass box the
lawnmower ejects the cut grass
cleanly through the high rear ejec-
tion area.
Cut the lawn in spring for the first
time as soon as the grass begins
to grow and it is possible to walk
on the lawn. If the grass has
grown too long, cut in one direc-
loaded, release the safety handle
and pull out the mains plug.
Remove the foreign body if neces-
sary.
Never place the Hattrick on
A
a solid base (e.g. tiles, floor
slabs, tarmac or paved paths, yard
entrances etc) with the aerator
roller on and a cutting height set at
less than 55 mm, as the aerator
springs will be in contact with the
ground.
Ensure that the blade can run
freely when starting the mower.
If necessary, only place at an angle
in such a way that the operating
mechanism points in the direction
away from the user.
Switching Off
Release the safety handle to stop
the motor (figure 4). The integrated
brake will bring the cutting
mechanism to a standstill within
3 seconds.

tion first with a high cutting height
adjustment and then across this at
the required cutting height.
Mowing and Aerating
When aerating (only 32 EH) and
mowing, we recommend guiding
the lawnmower in lines which are
as straight as possible. The rows
should always overlap by a few
