If you let go of the flap it drops
automatically and closed the dis-
charge aperture. If grass residue is
GB
left in the discharge aperture, it is
useful in order to start the mower
more easily to draw it backwards
about 1 m so that the grass residue
can drop out.
Warning! Do not remove
A
residue of cut grass from
the mower housing with your
hands or feet, use a suitable tool
such as a brush or broom.
Emptying the Grass Box
Hold the removed grass box by
the handle with one hand and tip
out the cut grass.
9. Maintenance, Care and Storage
Accidents and equipment failure
can be prevented by regular checks
(screwed connections firmly
attached, cracks, damage) and by
replacing damaged or worn parts.
Repairs should only be undertaken
by authorised specialists on safety
grounds. A list of service centres is
enclosed with the equipment.
Warning! Always pull out
A
the mains plug before
undertaking any work, inspections
and repairs to the equipment.
Danger of damage to equipment:
never clean electrical equipment
under running water, in particular,
do not use water under high pres-
sure on it.
Store the equipment in a dry,
frost proof location.
Store where children cannot gain
access to the equipment.

Note:
To guarantee that the grass box fills
well, clean it after use, especially
the air grille.
Fitting the Grass Box
Warning! Only fit the grass
A
box with the motor turned
off and the cutting mechanism
stationary.
Raise the protective flap on the
lawnmower with one hand.
Hold the grass box by the handle
with the other hand and fit it in
the locking mounting.
Note:
If fitted correctly the protective flap
rests precisely against the grass
box.
Maintenance
Maintenance refers to any work
needed to keep the equipment in
perfect operating condition.
Changing the aerator roller
(only 32 EH)
The aerator roller is subject to
wear caused by use. If the springs
become very worn, the unit is
no longer able to work in the
soil. The aerator roller must be
replaced. You can obtain a
replacement roller from your
specialist dealer.
Replacing the Blades
Figure 7
Only use original replacement
blades as otherwise ability to func-
tion and safety cannot be guaran-
teed in some circumstances.
You can obtain these replacement
blades from your Brill specialist
dealer.
Follow the instructions for installa-
tion when replacing the blades.
Mowing without the Grass Box
The protective flap is arranged in
such a way that it is also possible
to mow with the protective flap
closed and without the grass box
as a matter of principle. The cut
grass then drops on the lawn under
the protective flap.
Never use spares and accessories
which were not provided by the
manufacturer.
Note:
The blades have two cutting edges.
If one cutting edge becomes blunt,
the blade can be turned.
Blades with chipped edges must be
changes (out of balance)
Do not regrind blades (out of bal-
ance) and always turn or replace
blades in pairs.
When changing the blades, always
use the new screw fittings provided
with the replacement blades.
1. Unplug from the mains!
2. Unscrew the two fixing nuts by
holding the respective bolt firmly
(figure 7).
3. Turn the blades or insert a
complete new set of blades and
screw firmly in place (tightening
torque; 25 Nm).
