SAFETY WARNINGS AND GENERAL
1
PRECAUTIONS
Caution! – Important safety instructions: keep these instructions.
Caution! – For personal safety, it is important to follow these instructions.
Carefully read the instructions before you start working.
1.1 - Installation warnings
• All installation, connection, programming and maintenance operations must be
performed exclusively by suitably qualified and skilled personnel in observance of
local legislation, standards and regulations and the instructions in this manual.
• Before installation, ensure that this product is suitable for automation of your verti-
cal blind (read paragraph 3.1).
• All product installation and maintenance operations must be performed with the
automation disconnected from the power mains. As a precaution, before starting
work, affix a notice on the disconnect device, with the text "CAUTION! MAINTE-
NANCE IN PROGRESS".
• Before starting installation operations, move all unnecessary cables away from the
area; also deactivate any mechanisms not required for motor-powered operation of
the blind.
• If the product is installed at a height of less than 2.5 m from the floor, or other sup-
port surface, the automation moving parts must be protected with a suitable cov-
ering to avoid inadvertent access. To fit such a protection, refer to the blind instruc-
tion manual, and ensure that access is guaranteed for future maintenance opera-
tions.
• During installation, handle the product with care, avoiding the risk of crushing,
impact, dropping or contact with any type of liquid; do not drill or insert screws on
the motor exterior and do not place the product in the vicinity of heat sources or
naked flames (fig. 1). This may damage the product and cause malfunctions or
hazardous situations. If this occurs, suspend installation immediately and contact
the Nice Technical Assistance.
• Do not disassemble or modify the product in any way other than as envisaged in
this manual. The manufacturer declines all liability for damage caused by makeshift
modifications to the product.
• If the product is installed outdoors the power cable must be laid in protective duct-
ing suitable for cables.
• If the power cable is damaged, the product cannot be used as the cable cannot be
replaced. Therefore contact the Nice Technical Assistance.
• During system set-up, keep all persons far from the blind when moving.
• The product's packaging materials must be disposed of in full compliance with
local regulations.
1.2 - Operation warnings
• The product is not intended for use by children or people with impaired physical,
sensorial or mental capacities, or who lack experience or knowledge, or who have
not received adequate training in the safe use of the product.
• Do not allow children to play with fixed control devices. Keep remote control
devices out of reach of children.
• During a manoeuvre, check the automation and keep all persons at a safe distance
until the movement has been completed.
• Do not activate the blind when performing maintenance work (such as cleaning the
adjacent window).
• Always remember to check the balancing springs and cable wear (if these mecha-
nisms are present). Do not use the automation if adjustments or repairs are
required. In this case always contact a specialised technician to solve the problem.

PRODUCT INSTALLATION

3.1 - Preliminary checks and application limits
Caution! – Before proceeding with the installation check the following aspects.
This product is available in different versions each one with a different motor torque.
As each version is designed for the automation of blinds of specific size and weight;
before proceeding with the installation refer to the "Guide to choosing the product"
present in the Nice product catalogue (www.niceforyou.com) to check if the motor
torque of this product is suitable for the automation of your blind. Caution! - The
motor torque must not be greater than that required to move the blind.
Further usage limitations can be found in the chapter "Product technical specifica-
tions".
3.2 - Assembly and installation of the tubular
motor
Caution! - For the safety of people, carefully read the warnings in paragraph 1.2.
Incorrect installation may cause serious injury.
To assemble and install the tubular motor refer to fig. 6. See the catalogue of Nice
products or visit the website www.niceforyou.com to choose the limit switch crown
(a), traction wheel (b) and the fastening bracket (g), suitable for the installation of this
product.
3.3 - Installation of wall-mounted pushbutton
panel
(optional accessory, not included in the package)
This accessory can be used as an alternative to the radio transmitter to send com-
mands to the motor during normal use of the automation and to perform some pro-
gramming.
Use only a 2-button panel with "hold-to-run" mechanical system, i.e. it is necessary
to press and hold the buttons for the desired duration of the manoeuvre.
Note - After having memorised the limit positions a simple impulse will be sufficient
to move the blind, which will stop automatically when it reaches the limit position set.
During the installation place the push button panel as follows:
• in a place which does not allow access by unauthorised people;
• in sight of the automation, but far from moving parts;
• on the same side of the automation as the electric cable from the tubular motor
and the power cable from the electric mains (fig. 6-h);
• not less than 1.5 m from the ground.
To connect the pushbutton panel read chapter 4.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
4.1 - Connections
Warnings:
- Incorrect connections can cause faults or hazardous situations.
- Strictly observe the connections specified in this manual; if in doubt do not pro-
ceed; refer to the relevant technical datasheets available on the website www.nice-
foryou.com.
- On the power line to the system, install a device for disconnection from the power
mains with a gap between contacts that assures complete disconnection in the
conditions of overvoltage category III, in compliance with the installation rules.
The electric cable of the tubular motor is made up of 6 wires. To connect them refer
to fig. 5 and the following key:
1 - White-orange = Clockwise rotation button
2 - White = TTBUS / Anticlockwise rotation button
3 - White-black = Common bus wire
4 - Brown = Power supply phase
5 - Blue = Neutral
6 - Yellow-Green = Earth
Caution! – Cables 1, 2, 3 on the bus lines must NOT be connected to the 230
V power line.
4.2 - Turning on the motor (power supply)
Each time the motor is switched on (when it is powered up) it shows its status as fol-
lows:
• (after approx. 2 seconds) > 2 movements > 5 second pause > 2 movements =
no transmitter memorised.
• (after approx. 2 seconds) > 2 movements > 5 second pause > no movement
= First transmitter memorised; no limit positions memorised.
• (after approx. 2 seconds) > no movement = basic programming complete; First
transmitter memorised; limit positions memorised.
