Sample Out:
The DCC1000e has a 1/2" NPT threaded output for the drain. This is an open to
atmosphere drain to ensure no siphoning can occur when connected. Because flows can
vary, it is recommended that the drain tube should be at least 1/2" I.D. to minimize the
possibility of overflow.
• A shut-off valve should be provided in the sample line before the system.
• R un sample water through sample line to clean it before attaching it to the analyzer.
Ensure there are no leaks in the sample water path through the system.

7 Cation Column

The resin column on the DCC1000e holds 600cc (0.6L) of strong acid resin and is
designed to last 30+ days. Please note this will be dependent on the incoming sample
composition.
Loading the Resin into the column:
• T o remove the column, first remove both the top and bottom tube fittings. The fittings
have flex tubing for easy removal and quick disconnect fittings for hand removal and
tightening. Turn fitting counter clockwise to disengage.
• D isengage the top and bottom clamp to remove the column.
• O nce the column is removed from the panel remove the top of the column by twisting
counter clockwise. Fill the column with resin but leave a 2" gap at the top. Lightly tap
the side of the column with your hand to settle the resin. Add more resin as necessary
but still make sure to leave a 2" gap at the top.
NOTE: Before screwing the top back on the column, make sure to remove all
resin that may have gotten onto the threads and on the top edge. Failure to do
so will result in leakage.
• P lace the top back onto the column and rotate clockwise to tighten. Hand tight is all that
should be required.
• R eturn the column to the panel and fasten the bottom clamp first and then the top
clamp.
• R eplace the top and bottom quick disconnect fittings on to the top and bottom of the
column. Twist clockwise to engage.
