CHANGING THE FUSES

Carefully read p. 44 (MAINTENANCE).
CAUTION
Do not repair faulty fuses. Never use fuses
other than those recommended.
The use of unsuitable fuses may damage
the electric system or, in case of short
circuit, may even cause a fire.
NOTE
If a fuse blows frequently, there
probably is a short circuit or an overload in
the electric system.
In this case it is advisable to consult an
aprilia Official Dealer.
If an electric component does not work or
works irregularly, or if the engine fails to
start, it is necessary to check the fuses.

To carry out the checking:
◆ Turn the ignition switch to position
avoid any accidental short circuit.
◆ Remove the battery/tool kit compartment
cover, see p. 25 (BATTERY / TOOL KIT
COMPARTMENT).
◆ Remove the tool kit compartment.
◆ Extract the fuses one by one and check if
the filament is broken.
◆ Before replacing a fuse, try to find out the
cause of the trouble, if possible.
◆ Then replace the damaged fuse with a
new one having the same amperage.
NOTE
If you use one of the spare fuses,
put a new fuse in the appropriate seat.
◆ Refit the tool kit compartment.
◆ Refit the battery/tool kit compartment
cover, see p. 25 (BATTERY / TOOL KIT
COMPARTMENT).
LOCATION OF FUSES
7.5A fuse (1) - From ignition switch to:
- stop light circuit;
- mixer oil reserve sensor;
- fuel level sensor circuit;
- coolant thermistor circuit;
- CDI circuit;
- direction indicators circuit;
- horn.
15A fuse (2) - From battery to:
- voltage regulator;
- ignition switch/steering lock;
- thermal switch;
- PTC.

- direction indicator system;
- horn;
- fuel level system;
- water temperature gauge;
- oil level indicator.
15 A fuse (2) - From battery to:
- injection system;
- battery charging system;
- starting system;
- engine stop lights.
