INSTRUCTION MANUAL
WARNING:
Before using the equipment, read carefully
all instructions.
1. GENERAL SAFETY FOR OPERATING THIS
EQUIPMENT
- During charging, the batteries emit
explosive gasses: avoid generating flames
and sparks. DO NOT SMOKE.
- Before carrying out the test, position the
batteries in a ventilated place.
- In order to prevent damage to the vehicles'
electronics, carefully read, store safely
and scrupulously observe the instructions
provided by the manufacturers of the
vehicles themselves; the same applies
to indications supplied by the batteries
manufacturer.
- DO NOT SET IN THE RAIN OR SNOW.
- Keep away from the reach of children.
- Protect the eyes. Always wear protective
goggles when working on lead-acid
batteries.
- Avoid contact with battery acid. Should
anyone be sprayed by or come into contact
with the acid, wash immediately the part
involved with clean water. Continue to
rinse until a doctor will attend to the
person affected.
- It is important to connect the cables to the
correct polarities. Connect the red clamp
(+) to the battery's positive terminal, the
(EN)
black clamp (-) to the negative (earth).
- Use this equipment in well ventilated
areas.
- Prevent black and red clamps coming into
contact when they are connected to the
battery, since this can cause the melting of
the batter or other metal objects.
- Wear appropriate clothing. Do not wear
flapping garments or jewellery that might
get caught into moving parts. While
working, the use of electrically insulated
protective clothing is recommended as
well as anti-slip footwear. Should long hair
be worn, wear a cap to contain them.

INTRODUCTION
DESCRIPTION
Digital tester for lead batteries with printer
(Fig. A). This device allows testing the charge
status and cranking capacity of 12V lead
batteries used on vehicles (SLI batteries). The
tester also allows testing of the Start System
and the Charge System of the vehicle.
The minimum and maximum cranking amp
(CCA) values settable are:
- CCA/SAE: 100÷2000
- BCI: 100 ÷ 2000
- GB: 30 ÷ 220
- EN: 100÷2000
- DIN: 100÷1400
- IEC: 100÷1400
- JIS: 26A17÷245H2
- CA/MCA: 100÷2000
The suggested ambient temperature for
tester use is between 0°C (32°F) and 50°C
(122°F).
3. FUNCTIONING
3.1 BEFORE TESTING
- Ensure the battery terminals are clean.
- Before testing the vehicle battery, remove
the key from the ignition, switch off the
lights, remove all connected accessories,
close the doors and the boot.
ATTENTION: the display will not switch
on if the device is not connected with the
clamps to the battery to test.
3.2 OPERATIONS AND USE
- Connect the red clamp (+) to the positive
pole (Fig. A-5) of the battery and then the
black clamp (-) to the negative pole (Fig.
A-6). The display (Fig. A-1) shows the no-
load voltage of the battery.
