Switching On
– To switch on the measuring tool, briefly press but-
ton 17 (on the control panel 1).
After switching on, LED 5 lights up and a start indica-
tion with the manufacturer's name and additional infor-
mation (as far as entered, see "OWNER DATA"
Submenu, page 33) are shown on display 2 for
approx. 3 seconds.
When pressing and holding button 17, this start indi-
cation remains visible until releasing the button again.
After the start indication, the standard indication of the
measuring tool (see "Standard Indication of the
PipeLaser", page 30) is displayed.
The measuring tool immediately starts the automatic
levelling after switching on. During levelling, both the
laser beam and the symbol for laser power flash.
Note: Wait until the automatic levelling is over
(approx. 60 seconds) before making entries in the
menu.
The measuring tool is levelled as soon as the laser
beam and the symbol for laser power are continuously
visible.

Switching Off
Do not leave the switched on measuring tool
unattended and switch the measuring tool
off after use. Other persons could be blinded by
the laser beam.

To switch off the measuring tool, briefly press but-
ton 17 again (on control panel 1).
LED 5 goes out.
Standby Operation
In standby operation, the power consumption of the
the measuring tool is lowered by the display and the
laser beam being switched off. The settings (e. g.
laser power, grade, etc) are retained in this mode.
Note: Standby operation can only be activated and
deactivated via the remote control (on control panel
16).
– To activate or deactivate standby operation, press
and hold button 17 and press button 21 at the
same time.
Starting Operation of the Remote
Control
Switching On and Off
– To switch on the remote control, briefly press but-
ton 17 (on control panel 16).
After switching on, a start indication with the manufac-
turer's name is shown on the display 15 for several
seconds.
After the start indication, the standard indication of the
remote control (see "Standard Indication of the
Remote Control", page 30) is shown.
After a short period, the remote control automatically
switches off when not being operated.
Note: Pressing and holding button 17 longer than
2 seconds switches off the illumination of display 2.
