Skipping a Procedure
You can break from the normal program flow
sequence and skip a calibration/adjustment
procedure e.g. if you have already successfully
completed that procedure beforehand.
To skip a procedures and move to another
one:
• Press the [-] button to navigate one mode
backwards through the cycle of "Prepare to
Enter" modes, following the dashed arrow
path in Flow Diagram A.
• Repeat as necessary to navigate to the
required "Prepare to Enter" mode.
WARNING
You must have completed all four
adjustment/calibration procedures
before exiting the program,
otherwise the limb will not be fully
functional
Note... There is also an automatic time-out
feature, such that if no button activity or
programming is observed within a certain time
period, the device automatically exits button
programming mode.
If you want to exit before all four calibration/
adjustment procedures are completed, you
can do this at any point in the flow by pressing
[-] once and holding for a time until two
long beeps sound and the LED extinguishes
conforming exit, however the limb will not be
fully functional.
Yield Adjustment Notes
The Yield Adjustment procedure requires a
manual operation to adjust the Yield Level
(resistance) of the limb for sitting, and when
complete you must press [+] to move to the
next Prepare to enter... stage, whereas for the
other three calibration procedures, calibration
is an automatic operation initiated when the
program is in a calibration mode and the user
begins to walk.
When calibration is complete, the program
automatically moves onto the next Prepare
to enter... , or Calibration Complete stage, as
appropriate.
In Yield Adjust mode, (LED illuminated steady
red) the limb Yield Level can be adjusted
manually up or down in stepped increments
as follows:
To Decrease Yield Level:
With the user standing, supported (e.g. by
holding on to a walking rail):
• Flex the knee through approximately 15 °,
maintain the angle momentarily then fully
extend it to register a single step decrease
in Yield Level.
(Confirmed by one short beep);
• Repeat as necessary until the required
resistance is achieved.
To Increase Yield Level:
With the user standing, supported:
• Flex the knee through approximately 40 °,
maintain the angle momentarily then and
then fully extend it to register a single step
increase in Yield Level.
(Confirmed by two short beeps);
• Repeat as necessary until the required
stiffness is achieved.
