Appendix 2 Installing the Linx Programming App (Android)

To use the App you will require an Authorization Code from your Blatchford representative.
To apply for an Authorization Code, first you will need to install the App.
Note... Authorization Codes will only be
issued to suitably qualified practitioners who
have completed a Blatchford approved Linx
training course.

Minimum System Requirements

Prior to installation ensure your programming
device hardware and software specifications
satisfy the following minimum systems
requirements:
Hardware
• Processor: ARMv7 processor or higher
• RAM: 1.0 GByte
• Storage: 10 MByte
• Screen Size: For optimum app display
and performance a screen size of 7'' is
recommended.
Supported Operating System
• Version 8.0 (1st Oreo release), or higher
1. Install the App
1.1 Remove any older version of this software
from your Android programming device
before proceeding.
1.2 Insert the USB stick part no. 236520V2A
into your PC.
1.3 Send the <app-release>.apk file [Fig. 1]
on the USB to your Android programming
device at a location of your choice (e.g.
"My Files" directory). You can do so by:
• connecting your programming
device to your PC and using your file
browser to locate the file on the USB
and copying across to the Android
programming device,

• e-mailing the file as an attachment
from your PC to your Android
programming device and then
downloading the received
attachment, or
• sending the file from your PC over
Bluetooth® file transfer to the Android
programming device.
1.4 On the programming device, navigate
to the saved <app-release>.apk file and
tap on Linx app icon [Fig. 1] to begin the
installation.
1.5 The programming device manager may
open a window which asks: "Do you
want to install this application?" and gives
options Install and Cancel. Tap Install to
accept the install.
Note... During the installation process, you
may be asked to permit the installation from
Unknown Sources. Ensure that this permission is
given for this app only
1.6 Once installed, the programming device
will display an acknowledgement
message to say the installation is
successful. Press Open to open the app
(or press Done if you don't want to open
the app at the time), then follow the
instructions in the next section to obtain
an Authorization Code.
