10 User Modes

The User Modes are an optional feature of the
device and should only be enabled if the user
can operate them competently and safely. The
user should be advised to take extra care when
using these modes.
User access to the User Modes can be enabled
/disabled via the Linx Programming App: by
selecting [User Modes] from the Hub.
When enabled, the user can then switch the
required User Mode On or Off using the [-]
button on the device. During set-up the User
Modes can be tested in the App.
The device has three User Modes:

1. Flexion Lock Mode

Sets the limit of flexion to a predetermined
angle set by the clinician.
The maximum lock angle is 45° from fully
extended.
Note... Before the user can activate a User Mode it must be enabled in the user interface.
10.1 Flexion Lock Mode
To enable/disable Flexion Lock Mode via
the Linx Programming App:
• Select [User Modes] from the Hub.
To enable/disable Flexion Lock Mode:
• Tap Flexion Lock [Enable] to enable.
• Tap Flexion Lock [Disable] to disable.
To adjust the lock angle:
• Flex the knee to the required lock angle and
tap on the [Set Knee Angle] button.
To test Flexion Lock using the app:
• Swipe right to expose the User Modes test
buttons then tap on the [Flexion Lock Test]
button.
WARNING: After exiting Flexion Lock Mode, always test/confirm that the limb is
operating normally again before walking.
2. Cycling (Free swing) Mode
Releases stance, the limb will then swing
freely.
WARNING: In Cycling Mode there
is no stance active, this mode must
be de-activated before resuming
walking to avoid falling and
possible injury.
3. Training Mode
In this mode, the limb has a predefined fixed
pneumatic resistance setting, set by the
clinician,which does not adapt to changes in
walking speed. Also, Standing Mode is not
available or operational in Training Mode.
User Activation of Flexion Lock Mode
To activate/de-activate Flexion Lock use the [-]
button on the knee module, as follows:
To switch On Flexion Lock:
• Fully extend the knee.
• Press the [-] button 3 times (each time
pressing until the device responds with a
single short beep).
• 3 medium beeps then sound to confirm
that Flexion Lock is ON.
To switch Off Flexion Lock:
• Press and hold the [-] button.
• 2 long beeps then sound to confirm that
Flexion Lock is OFF and normal operation
has resumed.
