BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE
Before starting the Engine, carefully note the following:
• Check engine oil level.
• Allow Engine To Warm Up for approximately 15-20 seconds before engaging auger or drive system.
STARTING THE ENGINE (MANUAL START) (EGOV ONLY)
1. Turn the fuel valve to the ON position.
2. Turn key to the RUN position.
3. Prime system (if installed): 3 primes maximum. DO NOT over prime system. Make sure you cover the vent hole before the primer is
compressed. Hold the primer bulb in the compressed position for one full second each time you press it. Repeat for a total of 3 primes.
4. Position your body so you are standing close to engine. Firmly grasp rope handle. Pull slowly until resistance is felt, then pull rope
rmly and quickly to start engine and avoid kickback. DO NOT stand far away from engine or over extend the rope handle. Doing
this will damage the recoil.

1. Turn key to RUN position.
2. Position your body so you are standing close to engine. Firmly grasp rope handle. Pull slowly until resistance is felt, then pull rope
rmly and quickly to start engine and avoid kickback. DO NOT stand far away from engine or over extend the rope handle. Doing
this will damage the recoil.
PULL START PROCEDURE
1. Position your body so you are
standing close to engine.
STARTING THE ENGINE (ELECTRIC START) (CARBURETED ENGINES ONLY)
1. Turn the fuel valve to the ON position.
2. Prime system (if installed): 3 primes maximum. DO NOT over prime system. Make sure you cover the vent hole before the primer is
compressed. Hold the primer bulb in the compressed position for one full second each time you press it. Repeat for a total of 3 primes.
3. Turn key to start position (keyed RUN/STOP Switch is located on equipment control panel). DO NOT engage electric starter longer
than ve (5) seconds. If engine does not start, repeat steps 2 & 3 after waiting 1 minute).
STARTING THE ENGINE (ELECTRIC START)(EFI)
1. Turn key to START position DO NOT engage electric starter longer than ve (5) seconds. If engine does not start wait approximately
1 minute and try again.
2. Firmly grasp recoil handle. 3. PULL SLOWLY UNTIL RESISTANCE
IS FELT, then pull rope firmly and
quickly to start engine and avoid
kickback.
WARNING
Do not stand far away from engine
or over-extend the rope handle.
Doing this will damage the recoil
