6.3 Laying and connecting the Cables
When carrying out the electrical installation ensure that the cables are laid properly and that the con-
nection is made in a professional manner.
Only operate the ECS control unit using type approved drive units!
Only use the type approved cable set supplied with the ECS for connection!
Do not extend cables!
Do not "patch" damaged cables or wind insulating tape round them!
The four connecting cables should not have a specified conductor cross-section of
less than 2.5 mm
Cable laying Information:
Do not lay cables over sharp-edged corners! Use edge protection!
Do not lay cables on top of or next to fittings or equipment that could reach a temperature of
more than > 50°C.
Keep a minimum distance of 10 cm from cables with a higher potential (e.g. supply voltage
230V)!

Laying the supply connection cable
Remove the vehicle connection plug or take the positive terminal off the battery to prevent a
short
circuit during installation!
Pay attention to the terminals when connecting the power connection cable! No.1 = +12V,
No.2 = Mass
Contact points with screw connections
Place end connectors on individual core ends!
Tighten screws!
Check the maximum admissible current on existing contact points.
Pay attention to low contact resistances on the contact points!

Determine where the cable bushes (Fig. 14) are
to be located on the caravan floor.
Make a hole using a suitable tool (e.g. drill).
