1 Description and
Intended Purpose
These instructions for use are intended for use
by the practitioner and user unless otherwise
stated. Please read and ensure you understand
all instructions for use, in particular all safety
information and maintenance instructions.
The term device is used throughout these
instructions for use to refer to Detachable
Cosmetic Cover.
Application
This device is to be used exclusively as part of
a lower limb prosthesis and is intended for a
single user.
The device is a finishing component that
is only for use as a cosmetic cover on the
following Blatchford devices: Orion3 and Linx.
Contraindications
The weight of the device should be taken into
consideration before fitting (see Section 7,
Technical Data).
Clinical Benefits
• Provides an alternative aesthetic
appearance without affecting the
performance of the knee.
2 Safety Information
This warning symbol highlights
important safety information which
must be followed carefully.
Do not expose this device to naked
flames.
Report any changes in performance of
this device to the practitioner/service
provider.
3 Function
The device covers the mechanical components
of the Orion3 or Linx limb, to provide a more
realistic limb shape under clothing, without
inhibiting function of the Orion3 or Linx.
4 Maintenance
Visually check the device regularly. Report any
changes in performance of this device to the
practitioner/service provider (for example,
unusual noises or play).
The device has no serviceable parts and must
be replaced if damaged.
Cleaning
Use a damp cloth and mild soap to clean
outside surfaces, do not use aggressive
cleansers.
Doff the device to clean the interior, then dry
thoroughly before donning.
5 Limitations on Use
For information on limitations on use, refer to
the user guide that corresponds to your knee
unit:
