Training of personnel

Only personnel who have been trained and instructed may work with the clamping system. The responsi-
bilities of the personnel for operation, setting up and servicing must be clearly specified. Trainee personnel
may work with the clamping system only under the supervision of an experienced person.

Safety measures in normal operation

Operate the clamping system only when all the safety devices on the machine on which the clamping
system is installed are fully operational.
Before switching on the machine on which the clamping system is installed make sure that no-one can be
put at risk by the clamping system.
At least once a day, check the clamping system for externally visible damage and for good working order.
2.1.5

Servicing

The scheduled adjustment and servicing work should be performed at the specified intervals only by trai-
ned personnel.
During all servicing work
„ the machine on which the clamping system is installed must be in an EMERGENCY STOP state.
„ Check that the screw fastenings are tight.
„ After the maintenance work has been completed, restore the clamping system to its correct condition.
2.1.6

Design modifications to the clamping system.

No modifications, attachments or rebuilds made be made without the manufacturer's approval.
Immediately replace any components that are not in good condition.
Use only original spare parts and wearing parts.
Externally sourced parts offer no guarantee that they are designed and built to withstand the stresses and
operate safely.
