Release the two spindle locking pins (7) on the movable jaw (1).
Slide the movable jaw (1) on to the base rail (8) and insert the spindle drive (2) into the socket provi-
ded in the movable jaw (1).
Engage the two spindle locking pins (7) on the movable jaw (1).
The clamping system is now assembled.
5.3

Mounting the top jaws

CAUTION! All available top jaws must have an external contour suitable for mounting
on the fixed and moveable jaws, otherwise the clamping system or the top jaws may
be damaged.
X Before mounting the jaws, check the positions of the top jaws.
WARNING! For mounting the top jaws, use only the original screws supplied, with the
strength class 10.9. Tighten them to the torque specified for the top jaws.
X Before mounting the jaws, check the strength class of the screws.
X Check the torque setting on the torque wrench.
5.4

Mounting the front jaws

WARNING! For mounting the front jaws, use only the original screws supplied, with the
strength class 12.9. Tighten them to the torque specified for the top jaws.
X Before mounting the jaws, check the strength class of the screws.
X Check the torque setting on the torque wrench.
5.5

Clamping / releasing the workpiece

WARNING! Incorrect actions can cause injuries to you or damage to the machine.
Crush hazard between workpiece and clamping system.
X Wear the specified personal protective equipment (gloves, safety shoes).
WARNING! The clamping force may be developed only by turning the spindle clockwise.
The spindle is designed only for loading in tension.
X Never clamp workpieces from the inside, such as in pockets or slots.
5.6

Mounting on zero point clamping systems

CAUTION! Improper use may lead to damage to the vice or zero point clamping system.
The Hoffmann Group accepts no liability for direct mounting on the zero point
clamping system.
X In order to exclude damage the use of an adapter plate is recommended
in order to enlarge the mounting area and improve stability.
