5 Using
WARNING! Risk of personal injury
• The system must not be used for other pur-
poses than extracting exhausts.
• The system must not be continuously ex-
posed to a higher temperature than the
stated design temperature.
• The system must not be used when working
on the vehicle´s fuel system, when rechar-
ging the batteries or whenever there is a risk
of inflammable dust or explosive gases.
• Check that there is enough suction capacity
in the exhaust hose before it is connected
to the vehicle exhaust pipe. If needed, check
the fan impeller rotation direction and/or
damper function.
• Check that the hose or nozzle will not snag on
any protruding parts of the vehicle.
• Do not extract hot, burning or ignited mater-
ial or substances that might react with parts
or materials from the suction system.
• The system is designed for use only in the
direction of the length of the rail.
• Regeneration is not allowed when the ex-
haust extraction system is attached to the
tail pipe.
• Risk of high temperatures! Use protection
gloves or avoid contact with the hose or
nozzle after the system has been used.
• For emergency application: The system is
designed for emergency response only. Any
other usage is strictly prohibited and could
void the warranty of the system.
5.1 Connection of exhaust extraction
nozzle to exhaust pipe
NOTE!
The hose should always be connected to the
exhaust pipe while the vehicle is parked in the
station.

Start the exhaust extraction fan (as an alternative
the fan can be connected to an automatic start/
stopsystem).

Locate the nozzle of the flexible hose on the ex-
haust pipe. See
Figure 2

Use the manual switch to inflate/deflate the
pneumatic nozzle. See
5.2 Disconnection

Start the fan and open the station door.

Drive the vehicle straight out from the garage with
a maximum speed of 25 km/h (15 mph). The hose
automatically disconnects when the vehicle is
driven out.

Disconnection can be done manually by pulling the re-
lease cord on the hose just above the safety coupling.

Figure
21, item A.
The disconnection force is preset to 500 N (112 lb) on
delivery.
6 Maintenance
NOTE!
The service intervals in this chapter are based
on the unit being professionally maintained.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury
• Always turn off the power supply and the
compressed air connections to the system
before performing service.
• A dust filter mask should be used during ser-
vice and repairs inside the system, especially
when working on the nozzle and hose.
6.1 Check points
NOTE!
• Check and correct all the points at least twice
a year, as necessary, or when spare parts are
changed.
• Check and correct points 1–9 immediately
after installation.

Check the safety coupling function at least once
every two months. Check that it can be pulled
apart with a force of approx. 500 N / 112 lbs (=
pulling strongly by hand. See
sure the compressed air hose has enough slack
to cope with the hose stretching without beeing
pulled out of the safety coupling valve nipples.
Clean and lubricate the safety coupling as neces-
sary.
NOTE!
If the function does not work correctly,
contact your Nederman dealer for technical
advice.

Check the compressed air connection. Adjust the
pressure regulator so that the manometer shows
1 bar (14.5 psi).

Check the filter canister. Empty and replace when
necessary.
4 Check the compressed air hose spiral for wear and
verify a smooth travel along the wire.

Check deflating/inflating of the pneumatic nozzle
by using the manual switch.

Adjust the position of the disconnection trigger
on the rail to achieve the correct disconnection.
Check that deflating of nozzle is done when the
extraction trolley passes over the disconnection
trigger. Disconnection should be done at the door.
