Music Search Operation
∑ To skip to the previous or next
track (MUSIC SKIP)
Turn the [√ track ç] dial clockwise or
counterclockwise (or press the [√ / ç]
buttons of the remote control) during
playback or in the pause mode to skip to a
track located after or before the current
track.
● In the stop mode, the selected track
number blinks.
● During programmed playback, only
programmed tracks can be selected.
● During delete-programmed playback,
only tracks that have not been "deleted"
can be selected.
∑ To skip to the next track
● Turn the [√ track ç] dial clockwise,
or press the [ç] button to skip to the
beginning of the next track. As long as
the [√ track ç] dial is kept turned
to the right or the [ç] button is kept
pressed, the pickup will continue to skip
forward by one track and start playback
from the beginning of that track.
∑ To skip back to the previous track
● Turn the [√ track ç] dial slightly
counterclockwise, or press the [√]
button once to skip back to the
beginning of the current track.
● Or, turn the [√ track ç] dial further
counterclockwise, or press and hold the
[√] button. As long as the [√ track
ç] dial is kept turned counter-
clockwise, or the [√] button is kept
pressed, the pickup will continue to skip
back by one track and start playback
from the beginning of that track.
∑ Music search using [≈ / Ω]
buttons (SEARCH)
During playback or in the pause mode, hold
down the [Ω] button to move the playing
position quickly in the forward direction,
and hold down the [≈] button to move
quickly in the reverse direction.

During the manual search operation, sound
auto space
will be audible but the output level will be
lowered. This lets you search for any
≈/Ω
required portion while checking the sound.

When the desired position is reached,
release the button to reenter the previous
play [å]
mode.
● During the normal play mode ( or in the
programmed playback mode), when the
player reaches the end of the disc (or
program) after the [Ω] button has
been pressed, the player enters the
pause mode whereas when the player
reaches the beginning of the disc (or
program) after the [≈] button has
been pressed, the player enters the
playback mode.
● In the shuffle playback mode, playback
starts automatically from the beginning
of the current track when using the
[≈] button.
● In the repeat mode, holding the [Ω] or
[≈] button will move the playing
position within the tracks to be played
repeatedly.
∑ Playing a track by direct search
Specify the desired track by pressing the
numeric buttons (1 to 9, 0, +10) of the
remote control. The specified track starts
to play.
Examples of operation for direct search of
track number 10 or more:
To search track number 10: Press +10 once
then 0.
To search track number 25: Press +10
twice then 5.
● "–" blinks in the 1's position, and waits
for track number entry. If no number is
input for about 8 seconds, the track
number entry is cleared.
● Press the [clear] button on the remote
control if the [+10] button is pressed by
mistake.
∑ Index Search
Index Search is possible using the [{
index }] buttons. This allows direct
access to any desired points on discs
where INDEX codes have been encoded.
