Operations
Basic Operation
In addition to the basic operation
buttons on the front panel, the remote
control has buttons for control of all the
same functions (except for the [power]
button). The following operation
descriptions assume that the remote
control unit is used unless otherwise
specified.
1. Press the [power] button.
● When no disc is inserted, NO DISC
lights.
● When a disc is inserted, DISC IN lights
and playback starts.
● Turn the amplifier's power on and set
the input switch to CD.
2. Press the [open/close] button.
The disc tray will slide out and "OPE
will be indicated in the display. Place
the disc gently on the tray with its label
side facing upward. The disc is set
within the disc guides at the center of
the tray.

3. Press the [open/close] button again.
The disc tray will close and "CLOSE" will
be indicated in the display.
● After disc data (TOC) has been read, the
total number of tracks and total disc
playing time are displayed for a few
seconds.
● The Music calendar then lights,
displaying track numbers up to 20.
● If the total track number exceeds 20
(OVER lights up), the track number
should be confirmed on the TRACK
display.
4. Press the play [å] button or [push
enter] on the dial.
Disc playback starts from the first track,
and the Play indicator will light.
● When the disc finishes playback, the
track numbers disappear from the
music calendar.

Direct access play:
By pressing the numeric buttons
corresponding to the required track, the
tray will close and play starts from the
specified track directly, without your
having to press the play [å] button.
Example:
To play the 5th track : Press
To play the 21st track:

When the play [å] button or [push enter]
on the dial is pressed:
The disc tray will close and playback starts
from the first track.
● Press [push enter] on the dial after
turning the [√ track ç] dial to
specify the track number. Playback
starts from the specified track.
When the pause [ƒ] button is pressed:
The tray will close and the player will enter
the pause mode at the beginning of the
first track. Press the play [å] button,
pause [ƒ] button or [push enter] on the
dial to start playback.
∑ To stop play
To stop playback:
Press the stop [∑] button. The player
enters the stop mode.
To temporarily suspend playback
(pause mode):
Press the pause [ƒ] button. Playback
stops at the current position and the Pause
indicator lights steadily. To resume
playback from the same position, press the
play [å] button , pause [ƒ] button or [push
enter] on the dial.

Single Playback
A single track is played back, after which
open/close
the player enters the stop mode.
1. Press the [single] button.
The SINGLE indicator will light in the
display.
2. Select the track by pressing the
shuffle
numeric buttons, the [√/ç]
buttons, or by turning the [√ track
ç] dial.

● To release the single mode, press the
play [å]
[single] button again.

3. Press the play [å] button.
RANDOM Playback
Tracks will be randomly selected and
played back.
1. Press the [shuffle] button.
The SHUFFLE indicator lights in the
display.
2. Press the play [å] button.
● When the [shuffle] button is pressed
during playback, shuffle playback starts
from the next track.
● Pressing the numeric buttons has no
.
effect during shuffle playback.
● The shuffle mode is retained even when
.
the power is turned off.
To release the [shuffle] mode, press the
[shuffle] button.
∑ To specify tracks during shuffle
playback
● Turn the [√ track ç] dial
counterclockwise or press the [√]
button on the remote control to replay
the current track from the beginning.
● Turn the [√ track ç] dial clockwise
or press the [ç] button on the remote
control to select the next track at
random.
