Cleaning and Maintenance
General Cleaning Practices
Before performing any cleaning
or maintenance operations, turn
the machine off, unplug it from
the outlet and allow it to cool
down.
Do not use solvents or
detergents when cleaning the
coffee machine. Use a soft wet
cloth.
Remove the drip-tray, empty
and wash it regularly.
Clean the tank regularly.
Rotate left to remove the filter
and filter basket, dump out the
coffee grounds, and then clean
both with warm soapy water.
Rinse with clean water and dry.
Clean all removable parts with
warm, soapy, clean water and
dry them thoroughly.
DO NOT place any parts or
accessories in automatic
dishwater.
Descaling the Machine
For the appliance to work correctly
it should be kept free of limescale
or magnesium deposits caused by
using hard water. To prevent this

kind of problem, we recommend
using purified or bottled water. If
minerals do build up, the machine
will alert you that descaling is
needed by turning on the three
lights (no flashing) and beeping.

NOTE: During the descaling
process, if the coffee outlet requires
cleaning, you can switch off the
steam knob and allow the water to
flow out from the coffee outlet. After
the descaling process, take out the

Add a descaling agent (1 oz
citric acid and 33 oz of water)
to the tank and place a vessel
beneath the milk frother.
Press and hold the steam
button for at least 5 seconds
until all of the three indicator
lights flash in turn.
Then, open hot water/steam
knob to the ON position and
press the steam button again.
The machine will begin the
descaling process. This
process takes about 5 minutes,
though the actual length of time
may depend on the hardness of
the water that you typically use.
