The terminal device is based on the Ottobock DMC system (DMC=Dynamic Mode Control): This
system, which has been developed by Ottobock, uses two independent measurement and control
systems in order to optimally control the gripping speed and gripping force in accordance with
the muscle signal.

3 Application
3.1 Indications for use
The System Electric Greifers are intended exclusively for exoprosthetic upper limb fittings.
3.2 Use/Field of Application
The System Electric Greifers can be used for unilateral or bilateral amputations, and in case of
dysmelia.
3.3 Environmental conditions
The prosthesis system was developed for everyday activities and must not be used for unusual
activities. These unusual activities include, for example, sports with excessive strain and/or
shocks to the wrist joint (pushups, downhill racing, mountain biking, ...) or extreme sports (free
climbing, paragliding, etc.). Furthermore, the prosthesis system should not be used for the oper­
ation of motor vehicles, heavy equipment (e.g. construction machines), industrial machines or
motor-driven equipment.
The product is intended exclusively for use on one patient. Use of the product by another person
is not approved by the manufacturer.
Permissible ambient conditions are described in the technical data (see Page 23).
3.4 Qualification
Fitting a patient with the product may only be carried out by orthopaedic technicians who have
been authorised by Ottobock after completion of a corresponding training course.
