sions correctly on particularly reflective surfaces.
In this case enter the geometric data manually fol-
lowing the procedure described in the paragraph
"Manual wheel data entry", which is a function pre-
sent in the Utility and Configuration programmes.
CAUTION
bear in mind that the nominal wheel diameter (e.g.
14") refers to the planes on which the tyre beads
rest which are obviously inside the rim. On the
other hand, the data measured refer to external
planes, so they will be lower than the rated values
because of the thickness of the rim. The correction
value therefore refers to an average thickness
of the rim. This means that the data measured
on wheels with different thicknesses may vary
slightly (2 or 3 tenths of an inch maximum) from
the rated values. This is not a lack of accuracy of
the measuring devices, but reflects reality.
WARNING
Do not operate the machine without the guard and/
or if the safety device has been tampered with.
WARNING
Never raise the guard before the wheel has come
to a stop.
WARNING
If the wheel keeps spinning permanently due to a
fault on the machine, switch off the machine using
the main switch or disconnect the plug from the
power supply board (emergency stop) and wait
until the wheel stops before raising the guard.
- Wait for the automatic stop of the wheel. At the
end of the run, if the function of the automatic
position search function is activated, the wheel
may turn upwardly raised
At the end of the scanning of the front laser trian-
gulator, the laser is predisposed, when rotating
the wheel, to the plane acquired:
a) If the selected balancing programme requires the
application of a spring weight on the inner side,
the laser point must correspond with the rim edge.
b) If the selected balancing programme requires
the application of an adhesive weight on the
inner side, the laser point must correspond with
the application plane of the adhesive weight.
Please remember that the laser point indicates
the centre of the weight.

If the wheel is in a centered position and location
of proposed use is not correct you must:
- press (and hold) the LIVE button
door weight cover (see Figure 15b);
- turn the wheel clockwise to move the laser tri-
angulator forwards or anti-clockwise to move it
backwards;
- release the LIVE
position
- If the chosen balancing program provides for the
application on the inner side of a spring-loaded
weight, the laser spot must be in correspondence
of the rim flange (Figure 15).
Position 1 spring weight
- If the selected balancing program provides for
the application on the inside side of an adhesive
weight, the laser point must be at the adhesive
weight plan. It is recalled that the laser point
indicates the center of the weight (Figure 15a).
