LISTENING TO RADIO BROADCASTS
Try to receive a broadcast
,
e Be sure to connect the antenna.
1. Press the TUNER/BAND function button, and select FM or
AM.
Each time you press this button, TUNER/BAND function
changes as follows:

2. Tune to a desired station using the [--] or [--] button.
[Manual tuning]
Press the

button and release quickly.
The tuning frequency wil} change by one step each time the
button is pressed. Press as many times as necessary to tune in
the desired station.
[Auto tuning]
Press the [--] or [--] button until the frequency starts to change,
then release it.
The tuner automatically searches for a broadcasting station,
stops when one is found. To search for another station, press
again.
@ To interrupt auto tuning, press the

button again.
[High-speed manual tuning]
Press and hold the (-] or (--] button.
The frequency changes continuously and stops when
your
finger is removed from the button.
MONO button (on the remote control unit)
Press when there is a lot of noise when listening to a stereo FM
broadcast. Reception becomes monaural, but noise is reduced.

Last station memory
The last received FM or AM stations remain stored regardless of
function and/or power switching.
The last memory function wii! be canceled if the power cord is
disconnected or if a power failure occurs.
| Beat cut function

If noise occurs during recording an AM broadcast, perform the
following procedures to reduce the noise.
1. Turn off the power.
2. Press the ASES/COPY button for more than 3 seconds.
The Beat cut indicator @ lights.
To cancel the Beat cut function, repeat steps 1 and 2.
To change the frequency step
lf you need to change the frequency step (AM: 9 kHz/10 kHz FM:
50 kHz/100 kHz}, follow the next procedure.
1. Turn off the power.
2. Press the REC START/STOP button for more than 3 seconds.
Displays a frequency step.
