CONNECTIONS
Speaker impedance
XR-A100:
Connect speaker systems with a nominal impedance ranging
from 4 Q to 16 Q.
XR-A200:
Connect speaker systems with a nominal impedance ranging
from 6 QO to 16 Q.
Precautions for the S-A100 and S-A200
eThese speaker systems are not magnetically shielded, and
may cause color noise or distortion when placed very near a
television set. If this occurs, place the speakers farther away
from the television set.
Do not connect to any amplifier other than the one supplied
with these speaker systems. Connection to any other amplifier
may result in a malfunction or a fire.
3. When using a VCR or DAT, connect the audio cabie to the
AUX input jacks.
4. Finally, plug the power cord into the AC wall outlet.
NOTE:
insert the plugs securely into the jacks. Improper connection
can lead to sound distortion or malfunction.
CAUTION
Power-cord plug conversion adaptor
@> The conversion adaptor does not have a voltage conversion
function. (If necessary, please use the voltage selector switch
on this unit.)
(2) Connect the product's power plug and conversion adaptor
securely, and plug into the AC wall outlet. Make sure that
there are no foreign objects inserted between the power plug
and conversion adaptor.
This may cause electric shock or damage.
3) Please check the voltage and the AC wall outlet shape of the
country (area) where the adaptor is being used.
@) Do not use with any product other than the one that this
adaptor is packaged with (the raing of the conversion adaptor
may not be sufficient.)
) This adaptor can not be used with in Japan.
| Antenna
connections
Radio reception is not possible unless the antenna Is properly
connected.
The strength of broadcast signals varies from one area to
another. Signal propagation is especially poor in metropolitan
areas, where there are many tall buildings and in mountainous
areas. Proper antenna installation is vital to good reception.
FM ANTENNA
Stretch out the antenna and affix it to a wall, etc.
External FM antenna installation
Use an external antenna when the signals from the stations are
weak and cannot be picked up by the accessory FM antenna, or
when the sound heard is accompanied by too much noise.
[B] AM ANTENNA
Setting up the AM antenna
There are three ways of setting up the AM antenna:
(See illustration |B] a, b and c)
External AM antenna
@ Indoor AM antenna
Provide a vinyl-coated wire (5 to 6 meters long). Secure one
end to the AM termina! and the other end to a wal! or other
high location.
2) Outdoor AM antenna
If reception is still poor even when a lead antenna has been
fully extended indoors, stretch out a vinyl-coated wire and
secure it outdoors.
@ AM loop antenna
NOTES:
e Do not detach the AM loop antenna when using the external
AM antenna.
e 4 (signal earth) is designed to reduce the noise that occurs
when an antenna is connected. It is not a safety earth.
