TAPE RECORDING
@Recording is only possible on Type I (Normal) tapes.
Play the tape for about five seconds to go beyond the leader
tape (a section that cannot record) at the beginning of a tape.
@ Recording on tapes with the erasure prevention tabs broken
is not possible. (Refer to "HOW TO HANDLE
CASSETTE
TAPES", page 14.)
e You cannot change functions during recording. CD OPEN/
CLOSE
and DISC CHANGE
are also not possible during
recording, even if you press the buttons.
eDuring
recording,
the SOUND
MORPHING
and
P.BASS
functions do not operate. KARAOKE
ON/OFF operation is also
not possible during recording.
Recording radio broadcasts
1. Press the Tape function button.
2. Load a tape for recording in Tape II, and close the deck door.
3. Press the TAPE-PLAY/DIR button, select the tape direction
in which you want to record.

The recording indicator in the display shows the direction in
which
recording will start. When
you
have selected the
direction, press the STOP button.
4. Press the TUNER/BAND
button, and select FM or AM.
5. Tune to a desired station with the [=] and [--] buttons.
6. Press the REC START/STOP button.
Recording starts.
Recording starts in the direction indicated by the lit arrow in
the display.
7. To stop recording, press the REC START/STOP button.
NOTE:
If noise is recorded, refer to "Beat cut function" on page 20.
Tape copying
1. Press the TAPE function button, and set the function to
Tape.
2. Load Tape I with a recorded tape, and load Tape II with the
tape you want to record to.
@ Tape copying is possible in the forward direction only.
ePlay the tape you are recording to for a few seconds ta
move past the leader tape section.
3. Press the ASES/COPY button.
Copying starts.
4. To stop recording, press the STOP button or REC START/
STOP button.
NOTE:
Copying on this unit starts from the A side of a tape and stops
when the A side of the tape in either TAPE I or TAPE IT ends.
