Basic operation
e@ Use only TYPE I (Normal) tapes for playback.
TYPE II (HIGH/CrO2) tapes and TYPE IV (Metal) tapes can be
played back, although the sound may change somewhat.
e@ Tapes may be played back in TAPE I or TAPE II but not in both
decks at the same time.

. Press the Eject button (4) and load a recorded tape, then
push in the cassette door until it locks.
For relay playback, load tapes into TAPE I and TAPE II. Relay
playback is repeated as follows (32 sides maximum):

If there is a tape in only one deck, that deck continuously
plays both sides of the tape (16 sides maximum).
2. Set DOLBY NR to the same position used for recording.
Tapes recorded using Dolby noise reduction should always
be played back with the noise reduction system on.
3. If tapes are loaded in both deck I and II, press the TAPE I/II
(Function) button to select the tape to be played back first.
When a tape is loaded, the loaded deck will automatically be
selected.
Each press of the button alternates TAPE I and TAPE II as
shown below:

Selected one starts playback.
4. Press the START button to switch the direction you want to
start playback.
(Indicator shows you tape transport direction.)

When you use the remote control unit, press the Play button
(<> ) for the deck you choose to play (TAPE I or II).
To stop playback:
Press the STOP (m) button.
To fast forward or rewind, press C=] (or oS ) or
(or fn) )
button while the tape is stopped.
NOTES:
e Do not press the Eject (&) button while the tape is running.
e Confirm that the deck has stopped before pressing the Eject
(&) button.
Auto Stop Mechanism
This mechanism automatically stops the tape when the end of
the tape is reached during fast forward or rewind ( GJ) or G5) ).
