Congratulations on your pur-
chase of the Calido black matt
cookware range. Please read the
instructions for use carefully.
Only the proper handling of
cast-iron cookware guarantees
long-term enjoyment and good
cooking results.
Calido black matt products are
used for a variety of applications.
You can use the Calido black matt
products for gentle frying, braising,
cooking, simmering, caramelising,
deep-frying, marinading or also
baking that preserves the aroma of
the food.
The matt black coating is ideal for
searing, promoting the roasting
aroma and intensifying the taste.
High-grade materials and benefits
The pots and roasters in the Calido
range are made of solid cast iron
and are therefore real heavyweights.
They have an enamel coating on
the inside and outside that protects
against rust and also prevents food
sticking to the surface.
High-grade materials tested accord-
ing to international standards are
exclusively used for the cast iron
and the enamel coating.
A "patina" forms over time on the
matt black enamel coating on the
inside of the pan from frying with fat
that improves the frying properties
even more. We recommend that this
is not removed when cleaning the
cookware.
Benefits
Cookware made of enamelled cast
iron is used for a variety of applica-
tions and offers unique benefits that
are called for in modern kitchens.
• Suitable for all types of hobs and
high temperatures.
• Enables excellent heat distribution
and storage
• Durable and easy-clean
• Cast-iron cookware is perfect for
stylish serving and also for keep-
ing food hot for a long time.
Note
• Clean the cookware in hot soapy
water before using for the first time.
Dry well!
• When using, please note: avoid
overheating. It can lead to poor
cooking results. Medium or low
temperatures are ideal for a lot
of food. Choose the desired and
appropriate temperature when you
start cooking.
• Note about the grill plate: Due to
the dimensions combined with the
low product height, a slight wobble
of the plate cannot be ruled out.
This does not affect the properties
of the grill.
Professional tip
Season the roasting pan before
using it for the first time. The
resulting non-stick properties will
ensure that less food sticks to your
roasting pan.
In the oven:
1. Clean the roasting pan with hot
water and washing-up liquid and
then dry it thoroughly.
2. Rub vegetable oil onto the inside
and outside of the roasting pan
(not the glossy base). Also the
handle. Remove excess oil with a
cloth.
3. Place the roasting pan upside
down in the oven, previously
pre-heated to 220° - 230°C, with
the edge of the roasting pan on
the grille (base facing upwards).
A baking tray placed underneath
it will collect any dripping oil.
3. After 30 minutes, switch off the
oven and let it cool down with
the roasting pan still in there.
Remove the cooled roasting pan
and rinse it under the tap.
On the cooker:
If the roasting pan does not fit into
your oven or if you prefer to use the
cooker, season the pan as follows:
1. Clean the roasting pan with hot
water and washing-up liquid and
then dry it thoroughly.
2. Rub vegetable oil onto the inside
of the roasting pan. Remove
excess oil with a cloth.
3. Now heat the roasting pan on a
high setting until the oil starts to
smoke.
4. After it has cooled down, rinse
the roasting pan briefly under the
tap. Then wipe it dry.
Whether in the oven or on the
cooker, you can repeat this process
two to three times (optional). The
non-stick properties improve each
time the frying pan is seasoned.
