11 Installing the Perimeter Wire

With the additional routed clearance B = 2.4 in. (6 cm), the
robotic mower travels along the perimeter wire (2) without
bumping into the obstacle (3) around the corner.
C = A + D = 9.5 in. (24 cm)
Minimum distance to be kept between a high
obstacle and the perimeter wire in an internal
corner.
Wire clearance for routing the perimeter wire
around a restricted area, @ 11.5.

D = 0.8 in. (2 cm)
Maximum height difference the robotic mower
can cross.
If the height difference between the grass and other surface
(e.g., path, patio) is less than 0.8 in. (2 cm), you may install
the perimeter wire adjacent to the other surface:
► Route the perimeter wire adjacent to the other surface.
► If the height difference between the surfaces is more than
0.8 in. (2 cm), route the perimeter wire at minimum
distance of A = 8.7 in. (22 cm) from the other surface or
obstacle.

11.4 Routing the Perimeter Wire in Confined Areas

The robotic mower can travel automatically though narrow
passages, provided required minimum wire clearances are
maintained.
