LOWER BEAD DEMOUNTING
If the lower bead has re-seated to the rim, the bead can be re-broken by using the
lower disc on the PT trolley.
N.B.: You can also lubricate the lower bead in this way.
1- Lower the lower bead breaker disc and bring it to the same height as the lower edge
of the rim.
2- Place the bead breaker disc below the tyre, as close to the rim edge as possible (see
Fig. W/9).
3- Turn the turntable clockwise and simultaneously raise the disc until bead breaking has
been completed.
N.B. In this stage, locking the lower arm (acting on the designated control) is optional.
WARNING: If you decide to lock the arm, place it so that it does not interfere with
the clamps when turned.
4- Line the disc up with the outer edge of the rim and then lock it using the control lever
on the arm.
5- Turn the turntable clockwise and simultaneously raise the disc to create space for in-
serting the brush used for lubrication.
6- Thoroughly lubricate the inner bead (see Fig. W/10).
7- Using the designated control, raise the disc until the bead is above the upper edge of
the rim (see Fig. W/11).
N.B. make the task easier by manually lifting the part of the tyre that is opposite the disc.
8- Use the space between the rim and the tyre to insert the bead guide lever (see Fig. W/12).
9- Start turning the turntable until the tyre has been completely demounted.
N.B. if necessary, alternate the direction of rotation of the turntable.
10- Act on the control to release the lower disc and bring it to the non-working position.
11- Check the pressure sensor (if present) and replace if damaged.
MOUNTING
MOUNTING THE FIRST BEAD
1- Once all the preliminary checks have been performed, clamp the rim on the turntable as illustrated in the relevant paragraph.
2- Bring the PT arms to a non-working position.
3- Adjust and lock the head and then put the vertical post into a non-working position.
4- Replacing the valve by correctly using a suitable tool is always recommended.
5- Thoroughly lubricate the entire inner surface of the rim (see Fig. W/13) and the tyre
beads both outside and inside up to a depth of at least 30 mm; also lubricate the entire
outer side of the tyre (see Fig.W/14).
6- Put the valve in 7 o'clock position.
7- Place the tyre (by tilting it on the rim) so that the mounting head can be brought to
