N.B.: choose the correct cone (from the two supplied) for the size of the hole in the
centre of the rim.
N.B.: When working on reverse rims, it may be necessary to fit the special extension (see
Fig. J/3) onto the cone.
5- lower the lever (21, Fig. E) until the pressure of the cone on the rim pushes it down by
a few centimetres (see Fig. J/4).
N.B.: in this stage the bead pressing disc (22, Fig. E) must be positioned so that it does
not touch the rim or the tyre.
WARNING.
Moving the tool arms creates points with a potential hand
crushing hazard: always proceed with the greatest care and
attention.
6- close the clamps by pressing on the pedal provided, then raise the arm (1, Fig. J/2)
by, remove the bead pressing cone and return the arm to the retracted position.
ATTENTION: For mounting and demounting operations with the tyre
changers equipped with PT see the "istruction manual" for proper use.
When working on RUN FLAT, LOW PROFILE or UHP tyres, refer to the
WDK procedures and the manuals of the specific accessories.
1) Depress the pedal (7, Fig. P) to bring the arm (11, Fig. P) to its work-
ing position.
Do not place your hands on the wheel: when moving
the arm to its working position your hands could be
crushed between the rim and the mounting head.
2) Place the toolhead (16, Fig. P) against the rim edge, press the red button
on the grip (9, Fig. P), which causes simultaneous locking of the hexagonal
rod (10, Fig. P) and the horizontal arm (11, Fig. P).
The toolhead (16, Fig. P) is raised automatically and moved 2 mm away
from the rim edge.
N.B.: The vertical arm (10, Fig. P) can be lowered pneumatically by press-
ing the yellow button.
3) With the help of the bead lifting tool (1, Fig. S) inserted over the forward
end of the mount/demount tool (16, Fig. P) and below the top bead, lift the
upper bead over the knob portion of the mount/demount head.
N.B. To prevent pinching the inner tube, do this operation with the valve
about 10 cm to the left of the mount/demount tool.
4) Hold the bead lifting tool in this position and hold the pedal (1, Fig. P)
depressed to turn the table top (2, Fig. P) clockwise until the tyre comes
completely off the rim.
