3) Pull a Perlon stockinette over the plaster model to the edge. Tie off the
second half of the Perlon stockinette and fold it over the plaster model.
4) INFORMATION: Tie this off tightly so the prosthetic socket is air
tight after the lamination process.
Wrap string around the valve dummy and tie the Perlon stockinette off
tightly in the undercut of the cylinder body (see fig. 9).
5) Expose the valve dummy using a scalpel (see fig. 10).
6) Position a layer of carbon fibre cloth strap from the medial condyle over
the cylinder body to the lateral condyle (see fig. 11).
7) Position a layer of carbon fibre cloth strap from the MPT (mid-patella-ten
don) point over the cylinder body to the opening for the back of the knee
(see fig. 12).
8) Tie off the carbon fibre cloth strap tightly in the undercut of the cylinder
body (see fig. 13).
9) Position a layer of carbon fibre cloth strap circularly at the height of the
MPT point (see fig. 13).
10) Expose the valve dummy.
11) Cut a piece of Perlon stockinette (twice the length of the plaster model).
12) Pull a Perlon stockinette over the plaster model to the edge. Tie off the
second half of the Perlon stockinette and fold it over the plaster model
(see fig. 14).
13) Soak a PVA bag and pull it over the plaster model.
14) Carry out the lamination process with Orthocryl.
15) Once the lamination resin is sufficiently distributed: shift excess
lamination resin in the area of the cylinder body to the distal end by
wrapping with polyethylene adhesive tape. Wrap tightly so the prosthetic
socket becomes airtight.
16) Let the lamination resin set and roughen the laminate with wet sanding
paper.
17) Select a socket attachment block/lamination anchor. If the prosthetic
socket will be foamed with rigid foam, remove the short valve dummy
and exchange it for the long valve dummy (see fig. 15, see fig. 16).
18) Carry out the second lamination process as described in the instructions
for use of the selected socket attachment block/lamination anchor.
19) Finish the prosthetic socket (see Page 21).
