CAUTION
Risk of malfunctions
Obstructions, damage, and foreign matter can lead
to malfunction of hoses mounted on pressure re-
ducers.
Check all components of hoses to be mounted on
pressure reducers for obstructions, damage, and
foreign matter before installation.
Components which fail this check must not be in-
stalled and/or used.

2
Detach the protection cap from the outlet port.
Keep the protection cap for later transport or stor-
age.
3
Connect the pressure reducer tightly to the valve
of the compressed gas cylinder (A) by hand. Do
not use tools. The connections must fit each oth-
er. Do not use adapters.
 Use of the pressure reducer after a longer period
of storage (longer than 1 year):
Prior to using the pressure reducer slowly open
the valve of the compressed gas cylinder twice
with a connected pressure reducer and check the
flow in well ventilated rooms or outdoors.

Connect the device to the outlet port of the pres-
sure reducer, e.g., NIST connection (B).
Operation
WARNING
Prior to use of the pressure reducer check
whether the high-pressure connector is tightly
screwed on and the contents of the com-
pressed gas cylinder is sufficient for the
planned use.

1
Slowly open the valve (A) of the compressed gas
cylinder by turning counterclockwise.
2
Monitor pressure in the compressed gas cylinder
on pressure gauge.
When gas is not required
 Close the valve of the compressed gas cylinder.
CAUTION
The compressed gas cylinder remains closed and
is used as a backup to the central supply.
Stopping operation
 Close the valve of the compressed gas cylinder.
