10 Start-up
Responsibility
Operating companies
WARNING
Damage to the electrical system
and/or the refrigerant circuit.
Contact with live parts may result in electric
shock. Flammable refrigerant can escape and
cause an explosive gas/air mixture. Fire haz-
ard due to sparking or overload.
▪ Do not operate a damaged appliance.
▪ Do not connect a damaged appliance or
damaged parts (such as connecting ca-
bles) to the power supply.
▪ Only qualified staff may replace damaged
parts, e.g. connecting cables.
▪ Observe safety notices and warnings for
appliances with flammable refrigerants
(see →Flammable refrigerants).
▪ In the event of damage to the appliance,
promptly contact the maintenance service
(see → Maintenance services).
NOTE
Property damage due to incorrect ambient
conditions.
▪ Adjust the appliance to match the ambient temper-
ature prior to start-up.
▪ The ambient temperature must not fall below 16°C
(60.8°F).
Start up the appliance
Connect the mains plug on the connecting cable
(see →Electrical connection).
After start-up, it may take up to 2 hours until the de-
sired temperature is reached.

11 Operation

Only trained operating personnel may operate the ap-
pliance.
WARNING
Damage to the electrical system and/or the
refrigerant circuit.
Contact with live parts may result in electric
shock. Flammable refrigerant can escape and
cause an explosive gas/air mixture. Fire haz-
ard due to sparking or overload.
▪ Do not allow external forces to act on the
appliance, e.g. careless handling with a lift
truck or floor cleaning machine.
▪ Avoid transmitting pulsations and vibra-
tions to the appliance.
▪ Observe safety notices and warnings for
appliances with flammable refrigerants
(see →Flammable refrigerants).
▪ If the appliance is damaged or the fuse is
tripped:
1. Disconnect the appliance.
2. Secure the appliance against reconnection.
3. Contact the maintenance service (see
→Maintenance services).

CAUTION
Glass / material breakage.
Body cuts. Impact injuries.
▪ Do not apply any load to the lid.
▪ Do not climb onto or into the appliance.
▪ Check glass elements and plastic
frames for damage, e.g. cracks, breaks.
In the event of damage, promptly con-
tact the maintenance service (see
→Maintenance services).
Broken glass.
Hand and body cuts.
▪ Use protective gloves to remove split
glass parts and goods that may have
been damaged as a result.
▪ Carefully and completely remove all
split glass parts and damaged goods.
Leakage of condensation water.
Slipping hazard.
▪ Check for puddles in front of and under
the appliance.
▪ Promptly remove leaking condensation
water.
▪ Contact the maintenance service
promptly (see →Maintenance services).
NOTE
Material damage due to misuse.
▪ Operate the appliance in a stable operating posi-
tion (horizontal alignment).
▪ Check that the appliance is in good, proper condi-
tion. Any damage must be repaired immediately.
▪ Only operate the appliance with the swivel castors
mounted.
▪ Do not travel over steps with the appliance.
Property damage due to misuse.
▪ Do not operate the appliance above the climate
class stated on the rating plate (see →Rating plate
and serial number).
▪ The ambient temperature must not fall below 16°C
(60.8°F).
▪ Observe the prescribed storage temperature of the
stored products.
▪ Check the interior temperature (see →Temperature
display).
▪ In the event of a power failure, stored goods must
be checked by the operating company (tempera-
ture check).
▪ Check the area in which goods are placed for for-
eign objects. Remove goods stored incorrectly im-
mediately.
▪ Remove food residues, spilled liquids, and packag-
ing residues (see →Basic cleaning).
▪ Only operate the appliance with its lids.
▪ No objects may be stuck in-between the lid and
cover frame.
▪ Check if the lid is closed.
